Easter Trad Climbing Weekend. Day 4: Day Climb @ Higgar Tor, which is one of the smaller Crags in the area. This shorter days climbing is to round off The Easter Trad Climbing weekend, and will likely finish slightly earlier than usual to allow for journeys home etc.
To attend this event you will have climbed indoors (preferably with Outdoorlads) before and you will be competent with tying in with a figure 8 knot and belaying. If you do not have this experience, it will depend on the availability of suitably experienced leaders, as to whether you would be able to attend this event. If that is the case please message the event leader to discuss, before registering.
DEPENDING ON AVAILABILITY OF LEAD CLIMBERS, THE NUMBER OF SECONDER CLIMBING PLACES MAY NEED TO BE RESTRICTED AND THIS WILL BE DONE ON A FIRST COME-FIRST SERVED BASIS.

Participation statement
As a BMC Affiliate member, Outdoorlads draws your attention to the fact that climbing is an activity with a danger of personal injury or death. You should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for your own actions and involvement.
Please note that every person participating should be aware of (and accept) that those members perceived as ‘in charge’ or leading the event are not necessarily qualified, do not need to be qualified, and are not regarded by OutdoorLads, or themselves as ‘technical experts’ but are amateur climbers with some experience and who are happy to impart their knowledge. Any advice given should be considered with this in mind by the recipient.
What to bring
Harness, Rock boots, Belay plate, screw gate karabiner, If you don't have your own equipment then you may be able to use the OutdoorLads gear if you message the meet leader in advance. Please note there are limited group helmets available, and you wont be able to climb without one; group gear is first come first serve! Wear old clothes that you don't mind getting damaged. Grit stone can be quite abrasive. Bring warm clothes for when you aren't climbing and a waterproof just in case. It is also advisable to bring insect repellent as midges can be an annoyance.
Food & drink
You will need a packed lunch, and drinks to last you the day as we will spend the day on the crag. There may be the opportunity to retreat to a nearby pub for food/drink at the end of the day, and a chance to brag about the day's achievements!
