Eryri (Snowdonia) National Park offers a whole host of outdoor activites, and this Easter we are spending three nights here in a cosy bunkhouse, from where we can take to the mountains, forrests or coast for possible walking, scrambling, climbing or mountain biking.
The bunkhouse is located in a lesser used part of Eryri, with walking options nearby. However, we'll also only be a short drive to some of the more famous walking routes in the mountains, or the mountain bike trails at Penmachno, Betws y Coed or Blaenau Ffestiniog. There may be the option of invovling a steam train journey and/or visiting one of the Zip World attractions.
As with all our hostel events, we will looking for volunteers to assist with cooking and chores in the centre, as well as volunteers to help lead activities.
Our Accommodation
We will be staying in a 400 year old, grade II listed former farm building on the edge of the Yr Wyddfa National Park. The bunkhouse is located just south of Betws y Coed on the 8,000 hectare Ysbyty Estate (the largest single estate that the National Trust looks after). The building is fully of cosy character, with exposed wooden beams and space to eat outdoors if the weather is fine.
Activities
We hope to plan a range of activities across the two full days and final morning, although this will depend upon the availability of leaders on the event. We are well placed for full and exciting mountain walks in various locations, but also on more gentle terrain in the neighbouring forests and valleys. There are mountain biking opportunities nearby, as well as various third part activities. As we make our plans we will keep you updated.
Dogs: Sorry, this event is not suitable for dogs.
