NOTE: IF YOU ARE BOOKED ON BIG SOUTH CHRISTMAS AND WISH TO ATTEND THIS EVENT YOU DO NOT NEED TO BOOK ON IT
On this walk you will get to see Cherhill's White Horse from many angles. It dates from the late 18th century and is the third oldest in Britain. On the walk we will past Morgan's Hill, Ranscombe bottom, Calstone Down and of course visit Cherhill. The Lansdowne Monument sits on top of Cherhill and is a 38-metre stone obelisk erected in 1845 by the 3rd Marquis of Lansdowne. The walk is suitable for most levels of fitness. This walk is part of the BIG South Christmas weekend and is open to members attending the weekend and members not attending the weekend as a day walk. We should finish in plenty of time to be back at the hostel late afternoon and/or head into Devizes afterwards
