The Caerphilly Raven Walk is a twelve mile circular walk around the Sirhowy and Ebbw Valleys in South Wales, with spectacular views over the Severn Estuary and the county of Caerphilly. Throughout the course of the walk there are four raven sculptures hidden alongside the paths to watch out for as you walk along.

Starting out from the middle of the Cwmcarn Forest, we will head west through the village of Cwmcarn and over the Ebbw River into the woodlands that sit between the Ebbw ad Sirhowy Valleys.

We will make our way up to the motte at Mynyddislwyn, which offers amazing views over the county of Caerphilly. Our path will take us down to the village of Ynysddu and into the Sirhowy Valley Country Park. The path we will follow used to carry the Sirhowy Railway that once served the valley.

Our next stop after this will be the summit of Mynydd Machen; from here you'll be afforded fantastic views over the Severn Estuary and (on a good day) be able to see as far as Cardiff.

We will descend into the town of Risca, cross the Monmouthshire & Brecon Canal and head up between the summits of Medart and Twmbarlwm and back down into Cwmcarn Forest.
