BSumC2018: Road Cycle to Shoreham Naturist Beach CANCELLED

6 places left
THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO A POOR WEATHER FORECAST.
No need for your trunks, but you'll need a bike, your towel and your beach ball on this cycle to Shoreham Naturist Beach. This is a 50km (30 mile) Round Trip Cycle and is expected to take around 2.5 hours there. Please remember to bring adequate water and refreshments for the cycle as well as a day on the beach.
The Route is down the Coast via a track and minor roads then East along the Sea Front on the National Cycle Route No.2 At Shoreham Main Beach we will head Inland slightly to get round to the other side of the Harbour to the Beach at Portslade. There are no other suitable alternative routes back without adding too much distance, we can discuss this once we have assessed abilities.
The non-stop journey would take 1.5 hours to Portslade, but I have allowed for route finding and any dramas.
Bikes - This route is suitable for Road, Hybrid or Mountain Bikes.
This is one of the many events organised as part of the Big Summer Camp 2018 weekend.
What to bring
Pack for the weather. Sun = plenty of sun cream and a hat (helmet for the bike!) Sunburn and sleeping bags aren't much fun at all. A Towel to lie on as the beach will probably be small stones.
Bike Stuff - Repair kit, Tools, Helmet, Cycling Attire, Rain Gear if necessary
Food & drink
Bring a packed lunch for the day! And plenty of water, too. There are no facilities in the Immediate Beach Area.
