This is one of the many events organised as part of the Big Summer Camp 2018 weekend.

Beautiful market town of Arundel - with its imposing, still occupied (how dare they!) magnificent castle, nested in the chalky South Downs’ hills of the surrounding parkland, wetlands crisscrossed by the river Arun and ruins once home to some peculiar Abbots, also to be found is a Roman villa (no, there are no skimpy dressed Romans there anymore), and pubs, loads and loads of pubs along the way - just a few little highlights from a circular, day-long walk of circa 16 miles, on relatively flat terrain.

 Ah, is it soooooooooo long!

Fear not, if you wish to bail out for whatever reason - like a longer pub drinking time (code for number 2 or even 3), or a museum stop, or just pure laziness (we don’t judge, honest) - there’s a train station halfway through (approx £4 one way) - hourly trains, with a change, can take you back to the Angmering station in 45 minutes, few steps away from our Summer Camp Base. As this walk is quite long, please be aware that we might be taking some shortcuts to keep up with the timings - or even use trains to come back should the weather turn.

 What to bring?

Good walking boots are essential (blisters fear no-one) - a spare pair of socks is a good idea too. Water and snacks are also essential - we will aim to stop at the pub if you wish to purchase your country lunch. Suncream is advisable. Don’t pack your kitchen sink, but be sensible - it’s a countryside in a middle of civilisation.

See you there!
