This is a 10 mile (16 km) circular walk, starting with breakfast (optional) at the infamous Grindleford Station Cafe. The cafe opens at 9:00. We'll have breakfast from 10:00 and aim to start walking by 11:00.
From Grindleford Station we will follow a riverside path to Burbage Bridge, then a short ascent to Higger Tor.
Our route will take us across moorland to Stanage Edge before descending to the pretty village of Hathersage. There will be an opportunity to explore the village, which has several pubs, cafes and outdoor shops, and to visit Hathersage Church Yard, where Little John is said to be buried. We will then return along the River Derwent to Grindleford. There will be an optional pub stop at the Maynard Arms at the end of the walk.
Note: You will need cash for Grindleford Station Cafe as they do not accept card payments.
