Join us in one of the Lake District's least spoilt corners, as we explore some of it's lesser known valleys from the rustic Dinah Hoggus camping barn.
Although only a stone's throw from the tourist honey-pot of Keswick, Borrowdale is proper wild country, providing access to the the central, southern amd western fells. We will be spending the weekend in a classic lakeland camping barn - a beautiful old stone Cumbrian longhouse set on the side of a meadow close to Stonethwaite Beck. This is a touch more rustic than a youth hostel, but all the better for it, and makes an excellent base for exploring the borrowdale and langstrath valleys. The options for walking in this area are almost endless, so we can decide exactly what we want to do when we arrive.

What to bring
You will need the full kit for a substantial day walk up a near-3000ft mountain in Summer conditions. It will be chilly on the summit yet warm on the way up, so please make sure you come prepared for all eventualities weather-wise. Good boots are also a must.
130067Food & drink
Although we are in a barn, and there is a single-ring cooker, as far as catering is concerned, this is essentially a camping event. You can either bring food to cook/reheat on site, or we can go for a hot feed at the public bar of the Scafell Hotel.
You will need to bring food for breakfasts, and plenty of food for the day(s) on the hill.
