You can't get any closer to the sea than this! Come and join OutdoorLads for a weekend on the slipway, staying in an old lifeboat station with the sea lapping at the dining room window, and the golden sands of Port Eynon Bay stretching out to Three Cliffs Bay, the Bristol Channel and the rolling Gower Hills.

Converted from South Gower’s former lifeboat station, the hostel enjoys unparalleled sea views from the large lounge windows and offers guests a face-to-face with the forces of nature. The hostel has a lounge/dining room with seating and comfy settees where you can cosy up around the wood burner – run on locally-harvested logs, and there are picnic tables overlooking the beach immediately outside the hostel, lined by palm trees that grow here due to the Gower's warmer microclimate.

Britain’s first Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, the gorgeous Gower Peninsula boasts 34 miles of breathtaking coastline and 50 unspoilt beaches. Of all the coves and bays hereabouts, Port Eynon is amongst the finest. Most southerly point of the Gower peninsula, the hostel faces an award winning beach with safe swimming and rock pools - ideal for wind and kite surfing when the weather is right. We're backed by a wooded headland for shady walks and beautiful spring and early summer flowers. We also sit on the Wales Coastal Path, ideally situated for walks to Rhossili and Oxwich beaches.

What we will be doing:

Friday night: The traditional ODL buffet dinner, welcome meeting and meet friends new and old!

Saturday daytime: We'll be heading out for a full day's walk or climbing around the stunning coast. We are lucky enough to also have sport climbing on for the day! Why not give that a try!

Or bring your bike and head out to explore the rolling Gower coast, grab a board and go surfing or even go for a wander and explore the villages, local cafes and National Trust offerings.

Saturday night: We will be cooking you up a delicious meal to reward a good day out on the coast. We will have games or maybe even a quiz.

Sunday day: Either head off or why not explore the local area and find a nice pub lunch before returning to the real world?
