Anderton, Great Budworth, Marbury Country Park

We will visit the Anderton Boat Lift, Great Budworth and Marbury Country Park.
We start by walking along the Trent and Mersey canal towpath for about 2 miles.
Then we will walk along some tracks and across fields to arrive at Great Budworth, which was used as the location for a major BBC drama series a few years ago. We can stop here for a coffee break.
We will then walk down country lanes before turning off down a path alongside Budworth Mere. This will bring us to Marbury Country Park where we can stop for our lunch. We will then walk through the park and arrive back at the canal and then walk back to our starting point. We may go for a drink at a nearby pub when we get back to Anderton.
Well behaved dogs are welcome.
The nearest railway station is Northwich. If you're coming by train I'm sure someone could give you a lift from the station to the start of the walk.
Don't worry if all the places have gone, put your name on the reserve list and you will get a place if someone drops out before 23 March.
