1of2-Gtr Manchester Road Cycles - Airport and Cheshire Lanes
4 people attending
6 places left
Join us on this road ride from the suburbs of South Manchester out into the Cheshire Lanes.
Using the dedicated cycleway on the recently constructed Airport Link Road we will head out to visit the Aviation Viewing Park for a cafe stop and a chance to view aircraft at close quarters. Leaving the Airport we are soon on the Cheshire Lanes passing through the National Trust Tatton Park, exiting in Knutsford we then head out towards our lunch stop at a cafe near Holmes Chapel.
Our return route will visit Redesmere before a short climb near Alderley Edge passing close to Macclesfield where we join the Middlewood Way (A Rail Trail with good surface) back to the start. This ride is suitable for road bikes and hybrids, but assumes a reasonable level of road fitness. The route is mainly lanes, segregated cycleways and about 12km on a rail trail.
We will be riding at touring pace, 10 - 12 mph and no one will be left behind.
