Come and join OutdoorLads at Kilnworx Climbing Centre, a converted church with 15m high walls catering for all climbers whether they are just starting out, or wanting to impress on an 8a+. Indoor climbing centres offer the challenges of climbing that you'll find on natural outdoor structures; simply indoors. It's a fun way to stay fit, you will quickly begin to develop arm, back, finger, and core strength as a result of the many reaches and holds that are repeated through the completion of the climb.
This event is for members of all levels of experience and all are welcome to come along to any of the sessions.
To come along, you will need to register via the event page, and to climb you will need to pay an entry fee directly to the centre when you arrive. for entry fee prices at Kilnworx go to:www.kilnworx.org/what-s-on/what-s-on/prices.
It is important that if you are going to come along that you sign up so the event leader knows who to expect.
For your first time climbing with us please contact the event leader in advance to let him know what your skills and experience are.

What to bring
If you have your own climbing gear i.e. harness, shoes, chalk-bag, Belay plate and screw-gate karabiner, climbing rope, you can bring this along, but please make sure it is in good condition.
As a minimum you will need the use of a climbing harness and a belay device (belay plate and a screw-gate karabiner, or a gri-gri if you have one). If you do not have your own, you will be able to hire what you need directly from the centre. For prices please use the link: www.kilnworx.org/what-s-on/what-s-on/prices.
What to wear
It is best to wear either shorts, combats or tracksuit bottoms. No jeans or any form of trouser which hampers movement. A t-shirt or vest is also suitable.
If you have any OutdoorLads branded clothing then please try and wear this as it will give the group a good level of visibility.
Any jewellery such as rings, watches, chains or bangles should be removed before beginning the session to prevent injury.
Food & drink
There is a cafe at the centre where hot and cold drinks along with snacks can be purchased. Bottled drinks can also be purchased here.
Halfway through the event we have a 30 minute break in the cafe.
