The llangattock escarpment is a former mine and quarrying area. Its packed with caves, swallow holes, shake holes and grassy knolls. (Apologies for the poetry)

The grass mounds are home to a wide range of fungus in all the colours of a gay flag. Some i have never seen anywhere else.

From Crickhowell car park we will cross the weir and head slowly up the south east hillside, west of Crickhowell, crossing the usk valley.

Following some old mining rail routes we can roam the rocky wilderness and explore leisurely.

This will lead us into a lunch stop before decending the north east hillside.

From then its a nice flatish walk back into Crickhowell for an optional pub stop before sadly leaving for home.

Dogs are Welcome, I love dogs on my walks, however, please consider the distance, terrain and potential weather of this walk. It may not be suitable for new dogs that are unfamiliar to wales, rocky hills and us gays.
