Chapel St Leonards, Hogsthorpe & Chapel Point - Day Walk
18 people attending
2 places left
From the coast at Chapel St Leonards, the route first heads inland across fields to Hogsthorpe. It continues across reclaimed marshland, using a combination of tracks, field paths and quiet lanes, to return to the coast at Wolla Bank. A final stretch of just under two miles (3.2km) along a sandy beach, passing the slight promontory of Chapel Point, leads back to the start.
A summers day walk and visit to the beach, I'll be bringing my stand-up paddleboard (SUP), feel free to stay a little longer after the walk if you wish to join me, or simply frolic in the sunshine (hopefully, fingers crossed).

What to bring
Clothing
I always prefer comfortable hiking boots but you may get away with comfortable light weight trainers on this walk.
If we get lucky with the weather please ensure you pack your sunglasses and sunscreen, it might also be the perfect opportunity to show us your legs. Of course, dress for the weather, layers is better (fleece and separate waterproof overcoat, something light to shove in your bag) and will allow you to more easily regulate your temperature.
Personally I'm hoping for a lovely sunny day for this one (fingers crossed), which will mean shorts and a light t-shirt for me.
Food & drink
7.5 miles whilst on the shorter side is still longer than a walk in the park, so bring water or a flask of tea to stay hydrated, some snacks and a rucksack to carry them in.
Bring a packed lunch if you like, however whilst at the seaside, I'd like to pick up some fish and chips (if you want to do the same don't forget to pickup your wallet).
