Think of Birmingham and you think of urban sprawl, Spaghetti Junction and concrete jungle rather than tranquil waterways, lakes and green spaces. By popular demand this popular walk is being repeated this spring and will allow new and old members alike to join Leo discover that within just a few steps of Birmingham's hectic city centre lies a more tranquil world, perfect for a day walk.
During the day we will take some familiar and not so familiar sights of the city centre, a leisurely lunch in leafy Harborne and then return to the city for a pint or two.
No need for any walking gear - just a pair of comfortable trainers and a waterproof coat is all you need making this an ideal first walk if you are new to ODL.
Food & drink
There are a couple of shops (Little Waitrose, Tesco's) at the start of the walk should you need to get any snacks you may want to consume en-route.
We will break for lunch in Harborne for an hour giving you time to either have lunch in one of the many cafes or bars or alternatively there is plenty of open spaces for you to enjoy your own packed lunch.
At the end of the walk there will be an optional pub stop.
