Trustee Vacancy at OutdoorLads: Treasurer
We have an exciting volunteer opportunity to serve on our trustee board as Treasurer.
The Treasurer is one of OutdoorLads’ most critical Trustee roles. As guardian of our financial affairs, your oversight will ensure that our policies and processes follow good accounting practice, meet statutory requirements, and are transparent and accountable to the OutdoorLads Membership; that our systems are effective in enabling leaders to deliver excellent, good value events for our members; you will also play a crucial role in helping to set the future direction of the charity.
Our expectation of the Treasurer is someone with the skills and confidence in accounting and numbers, with the ability to confidently justify financial data to scrutiny from both the Board and the Membership, as required. Experience in accounting, or perhaps in a treasurer-related role (voluntary or otherwise) is desirable but by no means essential.
The time requirement of the role is estimated to be around 5-10 hours a month. In addition to the Board of Trustees, you will work alongside our amazing office team for support.
We have bi-monthly board meetings, currently entirely remotely, though these will likely return to the pre-Covid-19 schedule of one meeting in-person, the other by video conference. Although our “base” is in Manchester, with virtual meeting spaces and reasonable travelling expenses available, applicants are encouraged regardless of geographical location.
This is a fantastic charity, with people who care deeply about what they do. If you believe you can contribute, we would love to hear from you, please see the enclosed Role Profile for more information about the role and check out our website at outdoorlads.com.
