This is a long 110km (68 miles) ride with approx 1000m of ascent

Come on a road cycling trip from Carlisle with a difference as we cross the Scottish Border 4 times! This ride takes in some of the more neglected but beautiful parts of southern Scotland and Northern Cumbria on some very quiet roads.

We start from Carlisle and warm up with a flat ride to Gretna, where we will have a chance to grab a coffee and supplies if required.

From there it's a ride gradually climbing up to Newcastleton for a social café lunch stop before crossing back into England and the more hillier section of the ride down towards Brampton for Tea and Cake.  The return to Carlisle is a short 10 mile hop to grab the train / car home.

The route can be seen and the GPX file downloaded from here
