7 miles, 4 and a half hours including lunch stop. Due to the potential weather, expect this to be cold and potentially wet.

Let's take advantage of the extra long Christmas Weekend with a hike over Exmoor to burn off all the mince pies! The hike will be going over Dunkery Beacon, the highest point on Exmoor with spectacular views along the coast up the Bristol Channel and across to Wales.

Starting in Horner Woods, we'll then walk along East Water to Bagley Coombe before turning back east to Dunkery Beacon itself and taking in the view as we walk along Dunkery Hill.

Dogs

Dogs are welcome to join us on this event but we do ask the following:

  • Please appreciate the fact that not everyone is a dog owner or lover- especially when we stop to eat
  • Please ensure you adhere to the Countryside Code at all times - see (Keeping Dogs Under Effective Control)

If your dog is uncontrolled and strays in open land frightening other animals or livestock, the leader is supported by the OutdoorLads board of trustees to ask you to leave the event as this is not acceptable behaviour.
