Time for another walk in the middle of nowhere – but still not far from London?  This time a circular walk from Edenbridge. Please see the route by clicking this link.

We will meet at Edenbridge Town railway station (London Bridge railway line), going in a northerly direction which enables an opportunity to collect anyone arriving on the cross-country railway line (Tonbridge to Redhill). Footpaths are then not too far away, where we will meander through the countryside before walking around Toys Hill.

Toys Hill is one of the highest points in the South East of England. Our route includes the surrounds to Chartwell, the country house of Sir Winston Churchill and in the custody of the National Trust. It is not intended to visit the property although with hope, our route might reveal the house.

We will continue around Toys Hill, through the woodlands, and keeping clear of the cyclists who like the challenge which the hill brings them. If the day is good we will have a chance to take in the views of the countryside leading to The Ashdown Forest.

Depending on how long we take walking, there is an opportunity to stop in a local watering hole or tea room…. We’ll do a poll during the walk… As a circular walk, we will end where we started whilst walking along different footpaths.

Last year I led a walk from Ashurst which turned out to be really beautiful. That is not too far away so fingers crossed that this will be equally beautiful.
