Talybont Reservoir and the hills next to it

A 20km mixed walk, half relatively flat along the side of Talybont Reservoir on the Beacons Way, and the other half covering the hills to the north of it to form a big loop. Peaking at about 750m, from 150m, so a good ole bit of elevation gain. Oh and if you've got a bit hot on the way back there's a series of pretty nice looking waterfalls at Blaen y Glyn right near where we're parking up.
Rough route: Link
Option to do the whole thing in reverse if you fancy it (collectively).

What to bring
Variable terrain and cover throughout the walk means you'll want clothing suitable to contend with unsheltered heavy rain (hopefully not necessary though!) and rough ground. A good pair of walking boots is essential.
In the case that the current heatwave continues and you're like me you'll want light covering clothes and suncream sufficient for all day exposure.
Food & drink
Lunch and snacks sufficient to keep you going for a full day walking. Don’t forget enough to drink, especially if it is hot, I wouldn't recommend the reservoir for drinking!
