Our hostel is nestled in a small village in the South-east corner of Suffolk. Its low lying and flat topography offers easy walking routes and stunning wide open skies. Just seven miles from the coast at Aldeburgh there's so much to see and do!

Framlingham Castle, Sutton Hoo, Minsmere Nature Reserve, The Snape Maltings Concert Hall, Orford Castle and Rendlesham Forest are all close by.  Fascinatingly, in late December 1980 there were a number of reported UFO sightings at Rendlesham. Since then it's been known as “Britain’s Roswell”. Possibly even more extraordinary is the local legend that the Blaxhall Stone, a large stone located at Stone Farm, has been constantly increasing in size since it was dug up in the 19th century!

The hostel sits on the edge of the Suffolk Sandlings, a Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, one of the most important areas for wildlife in the whole of Britain. Our location makes a great base for exploring everything that the Suffolk coast has to offer. So why not join us and enjoy this wonderful countryside and who knows, maybe some more tales of the unexpected.

Accommodation

Comfortable and inviting, this former school is at the heart of the village, on the edge of Blaxhall Heath surrounded by wildlife and beautiful countryside. It's been recently extended and refurbished to a high standard. There is a spacious dining room and there are two lounges with soft seating and a conservatory that overlooks the fields beyond. Outside is the garden with picnic benches surrounded by flowers! Perfect for those late Summer evenings with OutdoorLads friends.

The hostel has several small dormitories, all of which have wash basins. One of the six bed rooms has an en-suite, and there are four showers and three toilets close to the bedrooms, along the main corridor. There's also have a disabled access washroom available. There's central heating throughout.

The nearest shop is two miles away.
