Chat

Video chat about long distance walking. Everyone invited, whether it's something you've always been interested in and would like to do your first 2-3 days hike or you're an expert thru-hiker.

It's an open chat, we could cover topics such as planning, kit, foot care, ideas of paths in the UK and more. Feel free to bring questions, tips, lessons learnt and anything you'd like to contribute to the topic. If the event if full, please sign up on the waiting list, this will give me an idea on the amount of interest and whether to run more than one.

Please note this is not about wild camping or wild camping kit, as we have covered this under a separate chat. However, if you would like to discuss wild camping please let me know, as we'd happily organise more discussions (also let me know if you're a beginner or experienced).

I will confirm the media closer to the date, possibly Skype, Discord or similar.

About me

Until a few years ago I barely knew what hiking meant. Then I watched a movie and something clicked: I want to hike, everywhere! At that time I had also just joined ODL, and hike by hike I started learning what it was all about (and loving it). My first 3-days hike was along the Lea Valley: a disaster! But mistakes are the best way of learning. Since then I've enjoyed hiking the Thames Path (short of 200 miles/300 km), sections of the Ridgeway and Norfolk Coastal Path, over 200 miles of SW Coast Path and other bits and bobs.
