Riverside walk in York

Join Lee for a 13km (8 mile) fairly flat walk down the picturesque River Ouse at York. This walk will take us along the river where we'll make a stop by The Riverfront in Bishopthorpe where you can buy some food or drink or munch on your packed lunch. We'll then head down river and stop at a pub about half-way round the walk. After which we'll loop inland, across fields and the racecourse.
Although not part of the walk, if anyone wishes to stay and go to a pub in York for food, there will be that option.
Well-behaved dogs welcome.
If the event is fully booked: please join the waiting list as people frequently drop out during the week before an event and you are likely to get a place on the walk.

What to bring
The terrain is tarmacked paths and mud paths.
- Walking Boots (some sections of the route can be fairly muddy even after a small amount of rain)
- Day sack
- Hat
- Gloves
- Food & Water
- Sun screen
Food & drink
I suggest you bring food/snacks with you and at least 2 litres of water (particularly if it's a hot day). We will stop for lunch at the marina at Bishopthorpe as this has plenty of space to sit by the river. It also has a cabin selling pizza, ice cream and drinks if you want to buy food there instead. Around half way round the walk, we can (if people want to) stop at The Ship Inn at Acaster Malbis for a quick beverage before looping inland back to the city.
