River Tyne Route - Downstream to the Toon

Join Steven for a pleasant easy linear valley walk hiking from a small village east and downstream to the quayside area of Newcastle Upon Tyne.
This is a much easier route, the paths are well maintained and signed and we will make a decent pace.
Along the way we will be visiting local landmarks, places of historic interest and nice venues for a swift half and a bite to eat.
Considering this route walks through the outskirts of the city this is a scenic and memorable route that largely coincides with the Hadrian's Wall Path and River Tyne Trail
This walk is suitable for dogs, although they will be need to be on a lead in the small sections by the busy roads, a lot of the footpaths are enclosed away from farm animals. There may be a very small number of stiles to lift dogs across but as I recall they are mainly gates here.
This is an ideal way to start the weekend , there is a social later in the evening and this walk finishes in good time to check into a hotel to freshen up or return home and head back out.
