Ribble Valley Ramble

Join Stephen on an 11 mile walk in the Ribble Valley in a scenic part of Lancashire to the east of Preston.
Highlights of the walk will be:
• Setting off Ribchester - which was a roman fort and crossing
• Passing some historical buildings and farms
• Venturing through wooded valleys and fields
• Walking through the grounds of Stonyhurst College in the village of Hurst Green , with its links to JRR Tolkien and the supposed basis for Middle Earth in the Lord of the Rings
• picking up the Ribble Way and following the River Ribble back to Ribchester
• returning to Ribchester for a well earned post walk drink at one of the pubs or cafes in Ribchester
What to bring
Bring waterproofs in case it rains and gaiters as it could be muddy along the river
Food & drink
Bring a packed lunch and plenty of water.
