A relaxed loop around Loch Ore, Fife

A relaxed loop walk in the Loch Ore Meadows Country Park.
This is a relaxed pace walk / picnic / dip around Loch Ore, taking into the hills for views over Loch Leven and Fife. The kind of walk you want to bring a blanket to lay on and something to sunbathe in.
You can see the route here: link. Despite the traced path there is some flexibility: if we spend more time relaxing we will reduce the walked distance to make the 18:27 train back to Glasgow/Edinburgh.
Note: the path has not been pre-walked. We will get going on it together and we might need to deviate from the plan, take in a detour, come back on our steps and the likes (however unlikely). It's an adventure. Also, if you like to hike fast and do few stops, this may not be the event for you. It's a chill, Sunday walk.
Transport
Lochgelly station can be reached by train on the Fife line, 9 am train from Glasgow, changing at Haymarket, and 9:55 am train from Edinburgh Waverley. Ongoing industrial Action is likely to be in place at the time of the event, but please check Scotrail for updates closer to the date.
Saturday night: are you participating in the Fife Coastal Path walk (link here) and fancy some wild camping on Saturday night? Message me directly to look into this outside of the event. Ideal for beginners, sleeping gear needed but no cookware (you will however have to carry your gear for the two days!).

What to bring
Bring anything you would bring on a dayhike. The path will be mixed.
Usual day walk kit:
Water: bring at least two litres
Medicines: if you have hay fever, diabetes, minor ailments etc.
Day rucksack: typically 20-30 litres, they are comfortable to wear and allow you to use your arms freely
Boots: waterproof and breathable and designed for hiking, trainers are OK if the ground is dry and there’s little chance of rain
Gaiters: recommended for wet weather or boggy conditions
Socks: proper walking socks will keep your feet dry and help prevent blisters
Layered clothing: lets you quickly adapt to changes in the weather and body temperature. Go for a base layer (vest or t-shirt) and a mid layer (a micro fleece or shirt) and in cooler weather add an outer layer (a windproof jacket or thick fleece)
Trousers: ideally no jeans as they become heavy and cold in the rain, breathable fabrics are more comfortable and dry and on warm days shorts are OK
Waterproof jacket: essential when hiking in all but the calmest of weather, breathable fabrics are more comfortable and dry
Gloves: Windproof, or better still, waterproof gloves are the best choice, bring a spare pair if expecting rain
Hat or cap: stay warm in winter and shaded in summer
Sunglasses: for any sunny day, even in winter
Sun cream: can be useful even on cloudy and winter days
Snacks: bring biscuits, energy bars, gels, bananas, chocolate or dried fruit for example and put them somewhere easy to get hold of
