Whether this is your first experience of climbing or a pro, this venue has something for everyone.
This event is for members of all levels of experience and ability and all are welcome to come along.
To come along, you will need to register via the event page, and to climb you will need to pay an entry fee directly to the centre when you arrive. Entry fee is £15.25 and an extra £7.50 if you need to hire a harness and climbing shoes.

The ratio of competent climbers to beginner climbers is 1:2 - if more competent climbers attend, the event numbers can increase.
Climbing both outdoor and indoors is a dangerous activity it is imperative that you follow the leaders instructions at all times.
I'm new to climbing - can I come along? Yes!
For new members, full instructions will be given. You will need to be signed in by a competent climber, please contact event leader to arrange this. You will also need to rent a harness and climbing shoes if you do not own your own set.
EICA is home to Europe’s largest indoor climbing arena, featuring internationally certified speed walls, and competition style boulders which sit beside our competition lead wall which hosted he IFSC Climbing World Cup in 2022. There are also two separate bouldering rooms including the new Bouldering Zone installed in Spring 2025.

What to bring
If you have your own climbing gear i.e. harness, shoes, chalk-bag, Belay plate and screw-gate karabiner, climbing rope, you can bring this along, but please make sure it is in good condition.
As a minimum you will need the use of a climbing harness and a belay device (belay plate and a screw-gate karabiner, or a gri-gri if you have one). If you do not have your own, you will be able to hire what you need directly from the centre. Hire of equipment at the centre is £6.50 each for shoes and harness.
What to Wear
It is best to wear loose clothing: either shorts, combats or tracksuit bottoms. No jeans or any form of trouser which hampers movement. A t-shirt or vest is also suitable. Also bring a loose fitting top or jumper as the climbing hall can get cold.
Ratho will be cold - although it is an indoor climbing centre - dress for the outdoors!
Any jewellery such as rings, watches, chains or bangles should be removed before beginning the session to prevent injury.
Food & drink
Please take your own water bottle.
There is a cafe for tea, cake and lunch!
