An afternoon visit to Ramsbottom Christmas Markets. Ramsbottom is right in the north of Greater Manchester, nestled in the valley of the ram on the foothills of Lancashire.
At the market there will be local food producers and craft stalls. There's also all the little independent shops "Rammy" prides itself on. These shops sell a variety of goods so you may come across that present you've been struggling to find for someone.
Father Christmas may even make an appearance if he has the time!!
After the markets we'll be paying a visit to one of the local pubs, it could be the brewery that operates in the town or another cosy bar depending on how we feel.
We'll be meeting outside the Train Station in Ramsbottom at 14:45. There will be steam trains running which will add to the atmosphere of the day.
The X41 bus leaves Chorlton Street bus station in Manchester city centre at 13:40 and arrives in the countryside of Rammy at 14:25. There's a returning bus leaving Ramsbottom at 17:27 for those who have plans for the evening elsewhere. Buses do run later in to the evening for those of you that may fancy a few more drinks before heading back.
What to bring
Plenty of layers are always a good idea, waterproofs may be needed depending on the weather.
Food & drink
There'll be plenty of stalls selling a variety of food and drink. We'll also be visiting a local hostelry for those that are interested.
