🌈 Rainbow Riders: Sunday Social Spin
3 people attending
3 places left
Join Rainbow Riders and OutdoorLads for a relaxed social cycle around some of Manchester's LGBTQ+ landmarks and green spaces, finishing with a friendly social in the Village.
Friendly, scenic, and chatty - a great way to get out on the bike and meet other LGBTQ+ riders.
🚴 Ride Overview
The ride starts and ends in central Manchester and follows a gentle route, ideal for beginners or those wanting to take it easy. We'll ride at a slow social pace of 6-8 mph, perfect for chatting and soaking up the sights as we go.
Expect a mix of traffic-free trails, well-surfaced canal towpaths, quiet roads and city cycling - with plenty of regroup points if needed and a chance to stop at a few iconic LGBTQ+ spots along the way (Sorry, no cruising spots - it's not that kind of ride 😏).
At the end of the ride, everyone's welcome to join the Village Bakers Social for post-ride coffee, cake or something stronger.
What to bring:
- Any roadworthy bike - this ride is suitable for the Starling Bank Bikes which can be hired by the minute from numerous city-centre locations.
- Helmet (mandatory for OutdoorLads cycling events - message the event leader if you need to borrow one)
- Water, snacks, and a spare inner tube
- Money to buy a drink or baked goods after the ride.
- Clothing suitable for the weather (layers and a waterproof recommended)
- Don't forget your bike lock if you will be joining for the social afterwards.
