POSTPONED - Afternoon Tea in Shrews - 30km Cycle
4 people attending
8 places left
Food and cycling, a perfect combination.
Join Will for a easyish cycle along cycle paths and country lanes from Telford to Shrewsbury where we will enjoy finger sandwiches, cake and tea. We will then roll ourselves to the station for a 20min trip back to Telford. Afternoon Tea will be around £15 and the train ride home ~£5. Please message Will with any dietary requirements as that will influence our food venue.
The route is approximately 30km, will take 2-3 hours, is gently undulating and mostly on quiet country lanes. The route can be viewed here.
Road bikes: Perfect for the route, the cycle lanes through Telford are fairly rough in places but you will be fine.
Mountain bikes: The route is non technical and mountain bikes are a tad overkill but excellent if that is you bike of choice.
Childhood bike you found in your folk's garage: As long as it works, you will be fine. If you still have tassels on your handlebars, top marks.
Commuter bike: Again perfect for the ride, but please don't tuck your trouser legs into your socks.
If you are unsure if this route is suitable for you, please get in touch with the leader who will be able to give you some advice. Anyone with a working bike and the ability to pedal it for a couple of hours will be fine.
If the weather looks particularly terrible the event may be cancelled, no one enjoys cycling in the rain (especially Will).
