Escape the ordinary and join us for a truly special 3 night long weekend at one of Cornwall’s best-kept secrets. Our hostel is a hidden gem tucked away in the "Deep South" of the Roseland Peninsula—a rare find for groups and a location that feels like a private slice of paradise.

Best of all? We’re hitting the coast on the perfect weekend. By visiting two weeks before the school summer holidays kick in, we’ll dodge the peak crowds and have the winding lanes, coastal paths, and pristine beaches almost entirely to ourselves. This is your chance to experience Cornwall’s magic without the bustle!

Whether you’re a hardened hiker, a sunset-seeker, a paddle-boarder, or just someone who needs some serious "Vitamin Sea," this weekend is built for you.

Where are we headed?

We’re based just five minutes from the nearest secluded beach, surrounded by the hypnotic charm of the Roseland.

  • The Wild Side: High-energy hikes to Dodman Point, the highest headland in South Cornwall.
  • The Picture-Postcard Side: Wander through the "fairytale" village of Veryan with its iconic thatched roundhouses or explore the sleepy, timeless harbor of Portloe.
  • The Iconic Side: We’re just minutes from the world-famous Lost Gardens of Heligan and the bustling fishing port of Mevagissey. If you fancy a change of pace, the Eden Project is only 15 miles away.

The Itinerary

Friday: The Social Kick-off Arrive from 4:30 PM and settle into your coastal home. We’ll kick things off with our legendary welcome buffet—a great chance to meet the crew and plot our adventures.

Note: Please bring a small contribution to share (enough for 2-3 people). Let’s keep it varied—creative salads, local meats, or snacks are great, but maybe let’s go easy on the quiche!

Saturday: The Grand Coastal Loop We’re heading out on a great walk to explore the rugged coastline, trekking through the charming spots of Portmellon and Gorran Haven. You can grab a fresh local pasty or a pub lunch in town before we conquer the heights of Dodman Point and wind our way back to the hostel for a well-earned dinner.

Sunday: The Western Wilds Today we head further west on our walk to Portloe. Expect dramatic cliffs, crashing waves, and that quintessential Cornish "hidden village" vibe.

Monday: Breakfast, clean up and head home after a glorious weekend!

Your Weekend, Your Way: While I’ll be leading walks both days, the weekend is yours! Want to spend Sunday at the Eden Project? Go for it. Fancy bringing your beachwear and chilling on the beach? Go ahead!

Food & Fuel

We’ve got you covered so you can focus on the views:

  • Included: Hearty breakfasts on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, plus delicious group dinners on Saturday and Sunday night.
  • Tea, Coffee & Cake: Unlimited supplies provided throughout the weekend—because every hiker needs a sugar hit!
  • Your Part: Just bring your Friday buffet contribution, your own preferred snacks/drinks, and either a packed lunch or some cash for a pub lunch on Saturday and Sunday.

Don’t miss out! Opportunities to book this hostel for groups are rare, and this pre-holiday window is the "sweet spot" of the Cornish summer. Grab your spot and let’s make some memories on the Roseland!

Dogs: Well behaved dogs are welcome on this event. Maximum 4 dogs overall, at a charge of £50 per dog for the weekend - this is a standard charge by the venue. Dogs and owners will need to sleep in a certain room together. Obviously dogs will need to be cleaned up after and kept out of the kitchen and off furniture.  Please contact the office on support@outdoorlads.com to book a place for your dog. Registered assistance dogs are free, please e-mail support@outdoorlads.com at the time of booking.
