Following a classic circular walk we will start from an old canal feeder pond (the best preserved and last complete example in Wales) then descend through a wooded valley to the peaceful hamlet of Manmoel. We then climb up onto the Cefn Man Moel ridge overlooking the Sirhowy Valley towards Ebbw Vale and Cwm. We will climb Y Domen Fawr (504m) and take in the views and explore both the Bronze Age and industrial past of the area. We will return via Mynydd Pen-y-Fan (409m, more peaceful than its busier namesake just to the north!). This walk will offer us a peaceful landscape away from the crowds whilst still offering spectacular views and rolling farm landscapes.
