Outdoorlads over the White Cliffs of Dover

This is a great 10 mile linear walk offering stunning views over the English Channel. Dover isn't the prettiest starting point (although it's pretty cool watching the ferries come in and out) but once we get out of the town it's a really pleasant walk taking in castles, a lighthouse, bays and of course the famous white cliffs.
This isn't a terribly hard walk but expect a few ups and downs as we head over the cliffs. There's no pubs en route so bring your lunch. But there'll be a chance for a pint or an ice cream at Deal...or maybe a swim!
Note: This is a linear walk. So you'll need to either head home from Deal or get a train or bus back to Dover (about 17 minutes).
If you're coming from London it's just over an hour on a direct train to Dover Priory:
- The 08:37 from St Pancras gets into Dover Priory at 09:40. Returns back go at 49 mins past the hour.
- Alternatively you could book return tickets to Deal, and on the outward journey get off at Dover Priory. The 08:12 from St Pancras (with 1 change) gets to Dover Priory at 09.34
I'll be camping nearby so if you fancy a weekend of it message me and I'll share the details.
Dogs are welcome to join us on this event but please be aware there's plenty of cliff edges with steep drops. We ask that you adhere to the Countryside Code at all times (see Keeping Dogs Under Effective Control). If your dog is uncontrolled and strays in open land frightening other animals or livestock, the leader is supported by the OutdoorLads board of trustees to ask you to leave the event as this is not acceptable behaviour.
