Nottingham Indoor Bouldering – All Abilities Welcome

Join ODL for an informal bouldering session in Nottingham. Whether you’re an experience climber or wanting to try it for the first time then the Depot Climbing Centre has something to offer.
Bouldering is a style of climbing free from the use of ropes and takes place above safety matting. This means that regardless of your level of fitness everyone can enjoy bouldering at their own pace. It’s a superb way to keep fit in a social environment.
If it’s your first time bouldering then we will be happy to orientate you, taking you through the safety aspects, the routes and some techniques. You will need the leader to sign you in.
After the session we may go for a pint at a nearby pub.
Its £8 entry for non-members, and £7 for members. Lifetime membership is £5.
Full pricing can be viewed here: https://www.theclimbingdepot.co.uk/nottingham/about/opening-times-prices
We will meet near the seating area next to the front desk.
First time at the Depot?
If its you first time at the Depot then you must complete an Adult Unsupervised Climber Form before you will be allowed to climb.
You can do this at the centre, but to save time, it would be great if you could complete this in advance by using this link: https://app.rockgympro.com/waiver/esign/depotnottingham/60bf9e5d-215e-426f-becd-e228f709896f
What to bring
You don't need much equipment for bouldering at all, which is another part of its appeal. The only specialist kit you will need are (rock) climbing shoes which can be hired from the centre for £3 if you haven't got your own. The leader has some spare shoes, so speak to them before hiring to see if they are suitable.
There are on-site lockers
What to Wear
It is best to wear either shorts, combats or tracksuit bottoms. No jeans or any form of trouser which hampers movement. A t-shirt or vest is also suitable.
Any jewellery such as rings, watches, chains or bangles should be removed before beginning the session to prevent injury.
Food & drink
There is a cafe area at the centre where hot and cold drinks along with snacks can be purchased. Bottled drinks can also be purchased here.
