Join ODL for an enjoyable evening of climbing in Nottingham. Whether you’re an experience climber or wanting to try it for the first time then the Nottingham Climbing Centre has something to offer.
The event is very casual and non-competitive, giving guys the opportunity to meet friends, exercise and have fun.
First Time?
If it’s your first time climbing, or it's been a while, then we will be happy to orientate you, taking you through the safety aspects to ensure you feel comfortable and confident to climb. The key thing is that everyone goes at their own pace.
First time at the Nottingham Climbing Centre?
You must register as a new member, to speed this up on the night it’s preferred if you can complete the online registration form in advance.
The first way is to join as a Bouldering Member, which means you can start climbing as soon as you arrive at the Centre, able to climb on all the unroped climbing (bouldering) zones. Just fill in the online Registration Form below. (A short induction video must be watched at the centre on the night, but you can still complete this form in advance.)
If you can put on a harness, tie in, belay safely, and boulder safely you can join as a Competent Member without supervision. Please complete an 'Adult Unsupervised Climber Form' using the link below:

What to bring
What to Wear
It is best to wear either shorts, combats or tracksuit bottoms. No tight trousers which hampers movement. A t-shirt or vest is also suitable.
Any jewellery such as rings, watches, chains or bangles should be removed before beginning the session.
Footwear
The only specialist kit you are advised to wear are rock climbing shoes, which can be hired from the centre for £2.50 if you haven't got your own. The leader has some spare shoes in various sizes, so speak to them before hiring to see if they fit. Some guys climb in trainers for the first few times, as they get used to it, which is also fine.
Rope Climbing
The Leaders will provide the equipment for the rope climbing
There are on-site lockers and a padlock can be borrowed from the front desk.
Food & drink
There is a cafe area at the centre where hot and cold drinks along with snacks can be purchased. Bottled drinks can also be purchased here.
