Starting in Marple, we will follow the Middlewood Way towards Bollington (A Rail trail) before a short section of road will take us to the West Gate of Lyme Park.

We will pass through the park, a National Trust property where deer roam freely. There will be an opportunity to stop for coffee and cake either in the Park or nearby.

Exiting the park we will drop down onto the Peak Forest Canal towpath to return to Marple.

The rides approximately 25km with about 250m of ascent, mostly level except for the climb through Lyme Park. Depending on the group, the ride can easily be extended to cover further section of the Middlewood Way or the Canals.

For this ride, any bike is suitable, although racing bikes with skinny tyres may find the going a little uncomfortable on sections of towpath and the climb through Lyme Park. No need to worry too much about your fitness, we will ride at the pace of the slowest and no one we be left behind.
