Among the numerous ParkRuns throughout London, join me at the Mile End Stadium (E3 4HL) for two laps through Mile End Park. The 5km course is a mix of tarmac and towpath (so expect some mud if it rains Friday).
The meeting point (a single storey yellow and blue building) is on Rhodeswell Road and is a 10 minute walk from the Mile End station (Central, District and Hammersmith & City lines) or a 15 minute walk from Limehouse DLR. There is also a car park - £1 for 2 hours. I'll be in my red ODL t-shirt at the start line!
To compete in a ParkRun and get your official time, you will need to have registered (free) with ParkRun to receive your all important barcode. You will need to bring a hardcopy of this barcode with you.
You run at your own pace, don't be scared that you may be slower than other people, you get to enjoy the view while they run past.
IMPORTANT! - Participation Statement
You MUST complete a Participation Statement, in addition to booking your event space before attending an OutdoorLads event. You only need to complete this Participation Statement once, not for each event you attend.
Anyone with COVID-19 symptoms, even if they are extremely mild, or who has recently tested positive for Covid-19, is asked not to attend.
What to bring
Your usual running kit, your ParkRun barcode (required if you want an official time), as well as something ODL-branded!
Please note that there is no secure storage on site but I've never had a problem leaving a bag at the starting point.
Food & drink
There are several coffee shops near Mile End Station including Starbucks, Costa and The Coffee Room.
