Local Walk for Local People?

At this time of year I don’t really like to travel very far for a walk, maybe driving less than 30 minutes. The start of this walk is accessible for anyone who lives in the Leeds area. There is ample parking near the start and also on the 2/12 bus route. We begin by walking through the park and making our way to the ring road. After crossing the ring road, we make our way through field paths to Shadwell and our lunch spot in the park there. After lunch we cut through fields and back into Shadwell. Further along we cross the ring road again and then traverse a golf course. Final stage is downhill to one of the Roundhay Park ponds and back home.
