Short but steep climb at the start. Small incline/declines the rest of the way.

A rewarding 18km walk offering views of the Llangollen valley.

We will start our journey from the beautiful Llangollen Heritage Railway Station and begin making our way out of the town towards Castell Dinas Bran, a ruined castle which is steeped in history going back to 600BCE. The castle sits on top of a short and steep hill but its worth climb for the views.

We'll then ascend slightly up to Eglwyseg mountain (not as scary as it sounds) to walk alongside the Offa's Dyke Trail where we will be welcomed by amazing views of Llangollen and the surround area. Looping around we'll continue on our way to Valle Crucis Abbey, once home to Cistercian Monks.

From there, we'll follow the Llangollen Canal up to Horseshoe Falls and grab a well deserved pint at the pub before crossing the bridge to Berwyn Railway Station to catch the train back to Llangollen Station. All with time to get home and catch the Eurovision final!

Dogs are welcome along on the walk and are permitted to ride on the train but will require a small fee payable at the train station on the day.

Be aware that you will need to book your own train ticket on the day.
