Lichfield Short Walk & Picnic in the Park

Come join Samuel for a short walk on a picturesque 5miles (8kms) walk in Lichfield, a vibrant and historic city in Staffordshire.
We start our walk, in the centre walking past the Lichfield Cathedral, an Anglican cathedral & the only medieval English cathedral with three spires, we then make out way Into the surrounding countryside before returning to the historic city of Lichfield before an afternoon of music performed by Lichfield Concert Band (one of our members Patrick -dgered) will be performing band
Dogs will be welcome on the walk but will need to be kept under control.
Following this there will be a short intermission before taking your seats in Beacon Memorial Gardens for 2pm and enjoying a couple of hours of music performed by Lichfield Concert Band. Bring a picnic, blanket, foldable chairs or sit on the grass - for the concert I would like to request if possible, that you wear ODL branded items. Signature red t-shirts encouraged if possible. Anyone who doesn't have branded items they can be purchased via the office or online shop along with an array of other branded items, hoodies, hats and bags etc. Or maybe just a red t-shirt if you don't have OutdoorLads branded kit.
Concert is free of charge

What to bring
Below is a standard kit list, please dress appropriate for weather and season.
Boots: waterproof and breathable and designed for hiking, trainers are OK if the ground is dry and there’s little chance of rain. There is possibly areas of boggy or wet ground if weather has been wet close to the walk date.
Gaiters: recommended for wet weather or boggy conditions
Socks: proper walking socks will keep your feet dry and help prevent blisters
Layered clothing: lets you quickly adapt to changes in the weather and body temperature. Go for a base layer (vest or t-shirt) and a mid layer (a micro fleece or shirt) and in cooler weather add an outer layer (a windproof jacket or thick fleece)
Trousers: ideally no jeans as they become heavy and cold in the rain, breathable fabrics are more comfortable and dry and on warm days shorts are OK
Waterproof jacket: essential when hiking in all but the calmest of weather, breathable fabrics are more comfortable and dry
Gloves: Windproof, or better still, waterproof gloves are the best choice, bring a spare pair if expecting rain
Hat or cap: stay warm in winter and shaded in summer
Sunglasses: for any sunny day, even in winter
Sun cream: can be useful even on cloudy and winter days
Picnic blanket, foldable chair or similar to sit on for the concert
Food & drink
Please bring drinks for the walk and concert along with snacks and a picnic or similar.
There is a Tesco Local not far from the car park, unsure about if there will be a bar/kiosk etc for the concert. However, expect there will be some provision
