Following the Hull social, I will be hosting a short cultural bimble around Hull taking in some of the cultural areas of the City.
We will meet at the Queen Victoria statue (Queen Victoria Square) - the location of Hull City Hall, Hull maritime museum (closed for refurbishment) and the Ferens Art Gallery, which hosted the acclaimed Turner prize.
We will start with a quick tour of the gallery before heading to the old town cobbled streets museums quarter, where we will stay an hour or so visiting:
- Hull Street life (transport museum across the ages and features a 1950s street scene).
- Wilberforce (discover the house where the MP for Hull who campaigned to abolish slavery lived and an impressive museum).
- Hull museum ( take a walk through time from the wooly mammoth and end towards more modern times).
Following a tour of the museums we can make a stop at the sailmakers pub for a quick drink before continuing down the high street and either head to the Deep to visit the Penguins and Sharks (tickets for the deep are £23/person) or Hull Minster to tour one of England's oldest and biggest Parish churches built in the 1300s - free admission if it's open).
