A Gay Summer Day in Blackpool

Join the OutdoorLads for A Gay Saturday Summer Stroll in Blackpool !

Join us for a delightful stroll along the famous promenade of Blackpool, where the fresh sea air, lively atmosphere, and sweeping views across the Irish Sea create the perfect setting for a memorable day out !

We will wander along the seafront, and take in the iconic sights and sounds that make this classic seaside resort so special — from the cheerful chime of amusement arcades to the laughter drifting from the beach.

Along the way, we’ll pass some of Blackpool’s most beloved landmarks, including Blackpool Tower rising proudly above the skyline, (a symbol of the town since 1894). There will be plenty of opportunities to pause for photos and have a look in the shops.

We usually stop for refreshments at the beautiful North Pier, the oldest and most tranquil of Blackpool’s three Victorian piers. Here, we can relax with a drink, and enjoy traditional seaside treats. 

After soaking up the atmosphere and stunning views, we’ll make our way back at a comfortable pace and grab some lunch. 

This is a fun, friendly, and flexible day out, tailored to what the group would most enjoy. If there’s somewhere else you’d like to visit — whether it’s the dazzling promenade lights, a cosy café, or another local attraction — we can adapt and make the day truly our own.

There are plenty of car parks in Blackpool, and there is free parking in the streets. A charge applies if you wish to park on the prom. Blackpool North and Blackpool South train stations are easily accessible. There are, of course, the trams which you can use. Alternatively, you may wish to utilise a horse-drawn fairy princess carriage !

Well-behaved, socialised and under-control dogs are welcome on this event.

Dogs must be kept on a lead whenever this is signposted and whenever we are in the vicinity of livestock, and at the event leader's request. It's a good idea to check what the route may be like with the event leader before booking to find out more about the potential suitability of the walk for dogs.

Please note that many establishments in Blackpool are dog friendly, however, some establishments may not allow dogs on the premises.

Many of us usually book accommodation over this weekend, so why not  make a weekend of it and take advantage of the variety of hotels and B & B's in the area ?!
