Anstruther to KIngsbarns

This is one of six planned walks over sections of the beautiful Fife Coastal Path

Our walk today starts in the busy harbour town of Anstruther and we walk eastwards towards Cellardyke and on to the picturesque village of Crail where we will take a short detour to visit the harbour.

We then continue on to a more remote section and around the headland at Fife Ness, the most easterly point of Fife. Some short sections of this part of the walk require us to walk along the shore and beach before resuming a grassy path. We pass Cambo Sands before arriving in Kingsbarns Beach and then walk up to KIngsbarns village where we catch a bus for onward travel.

The planned walks over sections of the Fife Coastal Path are as follows:

  • North Queensferry to Burntisland - 12 miles/19 km - Saturday 17th July 2021
  • Burntisland to East Weymss - 12 miles/19 km - Saturday 21st August 2021
  • East Weymss to Lower Largo - 7 miles/11 km - Saturday 28th August 2021
  • Lower Largo to Anstruther - 12 miles/19 km - Saturday 11th September 2021
  • Anstruther to Kingsbarns - 10 miles/16 km - Saturday 9th October 2021
  • Kingsbarns to St Andrews - 9 miles/14 km - Saturday 23rd October 2021

Transport

Anstruther - Bus service X60 (Edinburgh - St Andrews) and service 95 (Leven to St Andrews) stop in Anstruther. Car parking is available at the harbour or a short distance away if harbour one is full.

KIngsbarns - Bus service 95 (Leven to St Andrews) stops in KIngsbarns for return to Anstruther to pick up cars or on to Leven for onward travel. Service 95 also goes to St Andrews in opposite direction if desired.
