This event is designed as an activity for people returning home from the Brecon Beacons Christmas Hostel weekend, however anyone may participate.

Have a look at the photographs, to get a good idea of what to expect. Please read all section of this event post; YOU MUST WEAR A HELMET if you are going into the cave. If you are a serious caver, this event is not suitable for you! We will not be going deep into the cave, where there are squeezes and vertical drops.

If you would like to avoid small spaces, but like to explore a large underground cavern and/or a couple of hundred metres of large passageways and small caverns, this event is ideal.

We'll walk 2 miles along the Llangattock Escarpment, through disused quarries, with good views of Crickhowell and the Black Mountains (if visibility is good) to get to the cave entrances. We then have a 60 to 90 minute lunch break while those of us who want to, explore the cave entrances.

One entrance is directly into the main cavern, big enough to get a washing machine through, ideal for those who don't like small spaces, another is a bit too tight to crawl through, and another "interesting"one, which isn't tight, followed by a passageway to get to the main cavern.
