Sit and watch the stars go by. The site is broadly accessible but visiting the main telescope involves climbing some steps
We have secured a booking for a group visit to Sherwood Observatory.
Since its recent re-opening, the Observatory has been booked solid with group tours so we are pleased to offer this opportunity in Autumn 2026.
The visit promises a 90 minute adventure you'll never forget including a chance to ask anything you want to know about space and beyond. Additionally there will be:
- a 20+ minute planetarium show and presentation by the expert team
- a captivating talk in the lecture room that will spark your imagination
- a thrilling opportunity to gaze at the stars and planets or our closest star, the Sun, depending on the season, (weather dependent)
- a tour of the radio astronomy facilities
- a visit of exhibition in the Science Centre to learn more about human space flight and the history of the Reservoir
