Dwygyfylchi North Wales Bike ride
2 people attending
5 places left
My favourite place in the UK! North Wales offers fantastic scenery with some incredible mountain bike routes that are both physically and technically challenging.
This is a cross country style mountain bike route, meaning most of the terrain will be off-road tracks and trails, however the route will be a long distance with multiple hill climbs.
If you have a well-maintained mountain bike with a good level of mountain bike fitness, then this ride is for you.
There are some technical sections on route, which are steep and rocky, however for experienced mountain bikers they are great fun, and for those less technical you have the option to walk these sections.
Regardless of the weather, this will offer a great view of the coast and the mountain scenery.
I can offer one spare bike if a member wants to join this event but doesn't have a bike, however, this will need to be booked with me by messaging me via the OutdoorLads website before 01/10/2021.

What to bring
- A fully working Mountain bike
- Puncture repair kit (or better still a spare inner tube) and tyre levers. Also any special tools that your bike needs.
- Food - lunch and small snacks such as chocolate bars and energy foods.
- Plenty of water (minimum 2lts)
- Eye protection - impact from a bee, grit or even a fly at speed is extremely unpleasant, sunglasses may do if not made of glass and not too shaded.
- Clothing: choose suitable clothes and footwear for the weather forecast and time of year. You will be exercising so lightweight layered clothing is best. Jeans are useless if it rains but tracksuit bottoms need to be not too baggy or they may snag in the chain and cause an accident. You'll need trainers or similar with grippy soles for standard pedals. Please bring a change of clothes for when you finish as you will get muddy. Its North Wales Lads, waterproofs will be required, even if carrying it.
- Cyclist's Helmet - Outdoorlads policy asks you to wear a helmet to events, this must be in a good condition which will be checked at the start of the ride.
- Pads. Optional, but knee and elbow pads can stop a fall from ruining your day.
- Bag you will need a small day-sack to carry essential clothing, water and an emergency snack.
Food & drink
Apart from the start and end points there are no planned stops at shops. Most of the route we will be a long way from any shops, excluding the halfway point where we will cycle through Llanfairfechan. Therefore bring a packed lunch, snacks and water.
Bringing your own food and drink is mandatory on this ride and will be checked at the start of the event.
