Cruise the Gt Orme on the Waverley Steamer

The Waverley is the last sea going paddle steamer in the world. Built on The Clyde in 1947 to replace her name-sake that was sunk off Dunkirk in WW2, she now tours the UK bringing delight to all who sail on her. A trip on the Waverley is an unforgettable experience, not just for the coastal views - look out for Puffins, Seals and other widlife, but for the mesmerising engine room with public viewing galleries. The ship is powered by an oil fired triple expansion steam engine that drives the paddles on the port and starboard beams.
The ship has bars, cafes restaurants and plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The lack of vibration from propeller propulsion and Diesel engines makes the experience all the nicer. It is licensed to carry around 800 passengers - there's plenty of space, and undergoes a major re-fit in dry dock every year,
Come on board, sit back with a beer and soak up the scenery as she glides around the N Wales coastline.
The Waverley has been used previously for transport to multiple Outdoorlads walking events on the Isle of Wight, and the event leader has travelled on it many times, so if you have any questions drop him a line, or refer to the company website FAQs.

What to bring
Once we are at sea it will be noticeably windier and cooler than on land. If the ship is sailing into the wind, the ship's speed is added to the windspeed. A fleece is suggested unless we are in the midst of a heatwave. Absolutely bring a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen; if rain is forecast a decent waterproof will enable you to be on deck sightseeing.
there are multiple steep steps on board so grippy trainers are suggested for moving about the ship.
Food & drink
The ship sells various sandwiches, burgers and fish and chips, but there's no restrictions should you want to bring a packed lunch.
You are not allowed to take your own alcohol on board, but there's a well stocked bar with draft beer etc. There's also a cafe for hot drinks and snacks.
