This is a change of date for this circular walk taking in a couple of hill summits on the very edge of the Peak District.

We start almost immediately with a long, but gentle ascent to Cown Edge with extensive views over  to Manchester.

Descending from Cown Edge we will follow footpaths through farmland to eventually join the Pennine Bridleway south towards Lantern Pike, before a steep ascent to the summit, with fine views east over to the Kinder Plateau and west across the Cheshire Plain.

We then follow a mixture of lanes and bridleways back to Rowarth where there will be the option to take refreshments in a local pub.

All photos taken by the leader.

Well behaved dogs are welcome.
