Climbing at Shepherd's crag, Borrowdale

Join us for a day's outdoor climbing at Shepherd's crag, Borrowdale. Shepherd's crag has a number of multipitch routes to climb at grades Diff - VS including classics such as Little Chamonix, Adam and Eve. Whilst most of the climbing is multipitch and the crag has beautiful views over Derwentwater, the location is truly roadside, a short walk from the cafe.
To attend this event you should have some prior experience of outdoor climbing, preferably with outdoorlads. This is because the climbing available at Shepherds crag is mainly multipitch climbing, so involves an element of commitment not present when climbing on short single pitch crags - message the event leader if you have any questions. Please note that this event is subject to change / cancellation depending on weather conditions so please check your email in the days before the event for any message from the event leader, who will keep you informed of any changes.
We will meet in the nearby Lodore Falls cafe at 10am, ready to start walking to the crag at 10:15am. If the car park at the cafe is full, there are other car parks a mile or so along the road in both directions. Some members will be staying overnight at the nearby Chapel House farm campsite (also accepts camper vans) and will be climbing at Raven crag on saturday. Message the event leader if you would like to join us.

Participation statement
As a BMC Affiliate member, Outdoorlads draws your attention to the fact that climbing is an activity with a danger of personal injury or death. You should be aware of and accept these risks and be responsible for your own actions and involvement.
Please note that every person participating should be aware of (and accept) that those members perceived as ‘in charge’ or leading the event are not necessarily qualified, do not need to be qualified, and are not regarded by OutdoorLads, or themselves as ‘technical experts’ but are amateur climbers with some experience and who are happy to impart their knowledge. Any advice given should be considered with this in mind by the recipient.
What to bring
You will need to bring a climbing helmet, climbing shoes and a climbing harness, and wear outdoor clothing. We have a limited number of climbing helmets and harnesses that we can lend out - message the event leader prior to the event if you need one. The event leader will be in touch with attendees prior to the event to ensure that we have enough group gear and ropes between us to climb.
Food & drink
Bring a packed lunch and water.
