Celebrate the weekend of love with a scenic ramble through the charming landscapes of Chirk and the River Ceiriog. This 6.5-mile circular route is the perfect way to share the outdoors with friends old and new—because nothing says "Valentine's" like falling head over heels for stunning scenery!

Our walk begins near Chirk and takes us through a mix of open pastures, peaceful woodland, and riverside paths. Expect a few steep slopes and stiles along the way.

We'll start by wandering through the historic grounds of Chirk Castle, a place that has stood the test of time—just like true love. From there, we join the legendary Offa's Dyke Path, where sweeping views of the Ceiriog Valley will make you stop and stare (and maybe snap a romantic selfie or two).

As we continue, the route leads us to the impressive Chirk Aqueduct and Viaduct, marvels of engineering that bridge more than just rivers—they connect landscapes and stories. And if that's not enough to make your heart flutter, the tranquil riverside paths and rolling pastures will surely do the trick.

This is Daniel’s assessment walk, so Daniel will be leading. Mark will be at the back, there purely for moral support (and assessment).
